My first step into the world of working with seniors was in 1990 when I became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Since then I have found myself walking down a path of care. Every time I turned the corner there was a new experience awaiting me – something special I could do to help seniors. That path led me to a long career that so far has included caregiving, administration, activities and marketing. The only job I haven’t done – to everyone’s relief – is cook!
Throughout my career, I have been guided by one principal: treat our seniors like I would like my grandmother to be treated. Our residents and their families trust us to provide the best care possible to their loved ones. I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
