Cold takes on hot BBQs – according to Summerset Seniors

The grill’s hot, but Summerset Seniors’ opinions? Scorching. We asked a few pros what really belongs (and doesn’t) at a BBQ and they served looks, shade and a little side-eye:
Mary F.: Her least favorite BBQ food? “Flies.” Iconic. She’s team burger, wants it still mooing, and will side-eye your mayo-based coleslaw. And don’t show up with a bad potato salad … she’ll pass, politely-ish.
Bill S.: Burgers, yes. Dry chicken, absolutely not. He’ll serve you if you come empty-handed but expect a stare that says, “Never again.” Also? Watch the beer. He’s not babysitting anyone’s bad choices.
Ralph C.: Burgers? Hot dogs? Please. He wants steak. Rare. No beans, no pork and no one flipping it more than once. Someone brought fruitcake to a BBQ once and he’s still recovering.
Janet: Jell-O doesn’t belong anywhere near her grill. Burgers? Yes. Potato salad? She’s obsessed. Empty-handed guests? She’ll hit you with a “Son of a gun!” and hand you the dish soap.
