Executive Chef

Javier comes to Summerset with over 32 years of experience in the Dining industry, and over 20 years of experience in Senior Living. Javier’s brother was one of the first recognized Executive Chefs in Reno, and his proudest accomplishment is earning the title of “Executive Chef” for himself. Javier has received special Culinary Arts training in Chicago in addition to formal training in both Italy and at the butchering plant, provided by John Ascuaga. Javier has spent years of his Senior Living Dining career being sent to communities who were struggling to coach and retrain their teams to be successful. In his off-time, you can find Javier going to the gym or spending time with his family. Javier’s favorite thing about working for Summerset is serving our seniors and working for a community that feels like a family!
